Timorese animator in Canada muxes Timorese music played in Melbourne

October 24th, 2008 jen Posted in Animated Music Clips, Animation, News, Video Archive, Youth Suai No Comments »

For those of you who don’t know how talented the youth of Suai are look at this.
For those of you who are cynical about the benefits of YouTube to the world – look at this.
Late last year I uploaded some Timorese youth playing Foin Sae Timor Oan at the Boite Cafe on to YouTube. Not long afterwards a Timorese young person who works under the pseudonym of MusisRamelau and works in Canada, muxed it by taking the music and putting it to his own animation.

In May Musis Ramelau put an animation together to music by Sincustic which is Ego Lemos’s band. Ego is well known to the Australian community. Ego is living and studying English and Agriculture in Melbourne but he entertains Australians everywhere as he is invited to present his music in a range of festivals. The most recent of which I think was the Darwin Festival. Last I heard he was cutting a CD. So we look forward to hearing that soon.

YayH Go Musis Ramelau we love you.!

New Video: Istoria Domin

July 10th, 2008 jen Posted in Music, Music and Sound, Performance, Video Archive, YoMaTre 2 Comments »

Video made on iMovie with voices made by Lyn Anito and Zero! Lyn was in our first workshop in February 2006. Now she has a part time position with Red Cross in Suai. Anito and Zero are newcomers – and their talents came into the fore at Suai Loro Beach on the last day when I taped them singing and playing their guitar….you have to wait for that one. Meantime enjoy this and you can thank Annie Sloman for the inspiration to get everybody to make this song comic and give the video the zip it has now. They didn’t believe her it would work until they did it and everybody was pleased.
