The dream is: “For the voices of the youth of Suai to be heard all over the world” Suai Media Space exists to help the youth of Suai achieve their dreams and help in the recovery of Suai devastated by conflict in September 1999.

Featuring Cova Lima Artists
As part of our on-going conversation with the people of Cova-Lima we are pleased to be able to present New Photographs of the paintings and carvings of Cova Lima artists studying at Arte Moris in Dili. Featuring the work of Aze. Gibrael and Mariana. These are thinking young people casting an artist’s critical eye over the politicians and international community. Many paintings show a deep concern for the health of their treasured traditional culture. What is missing are women artists!

This short oral history on video with Senor Felix Adriano a carpenter in East Timor Suai, subtley conveys the impact of colonialism and the international competition for rights to the oil and gas reserves in the Timor Sea on the life and language of a Timorese who was born in to Portuguese Timor. Senor Felix lived through the Indonesian invasion and saw Independence arrive in 1999, only to suffer further through the Suai Church Massacre until there came a time when his skills came to the fore again in the re-building of Suai in 2000.
